HOWEVER THE CAM MAY DEGREE DIFFERENTLY, ESPECIALLY IF YOU USE THE DOUBLE BALL BEARING BLOCKS, WHICH ARE STILL CONSIDERED A LAWN AND GARDEN PART. RARELY, YOU WILL GET AN ENGINE THAT IS SO FAR OUT FROM NORMAL THAT THE CAM MAY NOT MEET PROFILE LIMITS. IF YOU HAVE THIS PROBLEM, WE ARE ABLE TO SPECIAL GRIND A CAM THAT WILL FIT YOUR BLOCK BY ADVANCING OR RETARDING ANY OF OUR CAMS.


Q: WHY WONT MY ENGINE TURN MORE RPM’S?
A: IN ORDER FOR AN ENGINE TO MAKE USABLE POWER IN THE 6500-7000RPM RANGE A FEW THINGS NEED TO BE CERTAIN. NO MATTER WHICH PRECISION CAM YOU ARE RUNING, YOU MUST RUN A CARB JET SOMEWHERE BETWEEN .046 AND .050. FUEL RICH ENGINES DON’T MAKE TOP END AND YOU MUST BE USING A HIGH PERFORMANCE EXHAUST,SUCH AS PRECISION SMALL LOOP. YOU ALSO MUST HAVE ENOUGH VALVE SPRING PRESSURE. VALVE SPRINGS THAT ARE TOO LIGHT WILL CAUSE THE VALVE TRAIN TO PREMATURLY LOOSE CONTROL ALLOWING THE VALVE TO HIT THE HEAD AND THEREFORE LOSE TOP END POWER.
